Temporary Teaching Assistant Posts x 2 (Grade C)

KS2 18.5 hours and KS1 17.30 hours per week, 38 weeks per annum

 

    The Governors wish to recruit the following posts for September 2014 to support individual children with communication and interaction difficulties, one in Year 1 and one in Year 5. Both posts are to support the learning and social needs for children with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition.

    

     The successful candidate must have experience of:

· supporting children with additional needs

· working in a school setting.

    

The successful candidate must also need to be:

· an enthusiastic, nurturing individual who is calm, caring and consistent in their approach to supporting children

· able to show a high level of interpersonal skills and committed to team

     work

· ability to use their own initiative, set specific firm boundaries and build strategies to overcome avoidance

· qualified at Grade C GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics

· qualified to NVQ Level 2 /3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent

· willing to receive support and training.

Clerk to the Governors

Permanent Part Time. Grade C Point 18    £1,716 p.a. 163 hours per annum

Start date: asap subject to safeguarding procedures.

The Governing Body of Goosewell School is seeking to appoint a high quality Clerk to Governors as soon as possible. The current Clerk will support the successful candidate in the first instance.

The successful applicant will be highly organised with a professional manner and effective communication skills to support the work of the Governing Body. Duties include attendance and minute taking at Full Governing Body and Committee meetings (usually 12 during the school year), preparation and distribution of agendas, minutes and correspondence for all meetings, maintaining records and a policy review cycle and an annual cycle of Governor business, supporting the recruitment and induction of new Governors and guiding the Governing Body on procedural matters.

Training will be provided. Discussion, confidentiality and flexibility, plus excellent organisational and computer skills are essential.

Hours are flexible to fit in with the Governors’ cycle of business throughout the year.

Meetings are usually held from 8.00 to 9.30 a.m. (but this can be negotiated for the right candidate) with two full days during the school terms.
