The Governing Body's statement on charges and remissions for school activities and visits is that "in order to ensure that certain activities take place, it is necessary to ask parents for voluntary contributions. Children shall not be prevented from undertaking an educational activity in school hours because of their parents' ability or refusal to make a voluntary contribution. However, if contributions and funds are not sufficient to cover the estimated cost then the activity will not be able to take place."

Please note that instrumental music tuition is not covered by this statement. Peripatetic instrumental lessons are provided by Devon Youth Music and parents are expected to make a termly payment towards the cost of this provision for their children.

If funds are available within the school budget, it is possible for the school to provide financial assistance for parents, either receiving income support or suffering financial hardship. Parents should contact the Headteacher for advice on the availability of funds for the cost of educational visits or music tuition. All conversations and requests will, of course, be treated in confidence and with discretion.
Please see our Charges and Remissions policy on the Policies page of the website for more information.
