Y5 Info

Welcome to Year 5

This term Year 5 are learning about:
Off With Her Head

Who will support my learning?

Teachers: 5C - Mrs Clarke, 5S - Mrs Struben, 5T - Miss Thomas.

Teaching Assistants: Mrs Nathan, Mrs Phillips and Mrs Ponsford.

When will my homework be set / due in?

Your child is going to be set spellings to learn at home on a weekly basis.  The spellings set will link to the focus of the spelling lesson being taught that week and the number of words will be a maximum of ten depending on the level of difficulty.  The words to learn will be glued onto a new page in this Homework Book every Monday.  Your child can use the page to learn their spellings using a strategy of their choice from the ideas below.  The spellings will be tested on a Friday and the test will be completed in the back of this Homework Book so that you can celebrate your child’s successes and support them in addressing any misconceptions.

In addition to spelling, the expectation is for your child to read at home daily and record it in their reading diaries at least four times a week. Maths homework will be set every Monday and due in on a Friday; the task will be linked to your child's learning that week and will be completed in pencil in this Homework Book. Topic related homework will be set once a term.
