I am a mother to two children at Goosewell. One in year 5, and one in year 1. I have lived in Plymstock for 7 years and in Plymouth for 19 years, moving here to work for a global engineering company. Although my job has changed over the years, I've made Plymouth my home. Having a background in science and engineering, I am keen to support Goosewell in the provision of STEM subjects to all students. I believe in educational equity and I hope my role as parent governor continues Goosewell's good progress in fairness and inclusion.

It is a great privilege to become a Co-Opted Governor at Goosewell Academy. I have two children currently at Goosewell and I have been fortunate to see how they have both been supported and encouraged with their developing education since they started school. I am a Secondary Teacher with a specialism in Modern Foreign Languages and have been Head of Faculty at a large school in Plymouth. I now work to advise and support those who are considering a career in teaching, working at both Primary and Secondary phases. I am firm in my belief that all children should have a positive experience of school. Children need to be supported to thrive at a level that challenges them as individuals and, importantly, they should enjoy their education; both are key to our children developing lifelong skills for learning and success. This is only possible with a dedicated school community of staff, children and families, and I am excited to have the opportunity to be a part of this at Goosewell Academy.
Mrs Angela Jenkins

I am extremely proud to be a Trust Appointed Governor at Goosewell Academy. I have three children, two of whom are currently at Goosewell, with my third having left last year to move onto Secondary School. I qualified as a Primary Teacher in 1998 and have specialised in Early Years Education for the past 14 years; I am currently a member of the Senior Leadership Team of a Primary Multi Academy Trust, where I am responsible for School Improvement and the professional development of teachers. My passion is for education; I believe that every child should be inspired to learn by an exciting, innovative and challenging curriculum whilst receiving the very best experience that each and every one of them deserves.
I am looking forward to working with the amazingly dedicated staff and children of Goosewell Academy.

Hi I am Jo Penk the parent support adviser at Goosewell Academy and have worked in this for 16 years, I have 2 adult children one of whom completed her primary school education at Goosewell. I live in the local area and I am passionate about ensuring that our pupils and their families feel heard and supported in school.
My experiences as a service family means I am very aware of the impact that mobility and deployment have on young people and their families. I feel that we should celebrate and embrace the enrichment service families bring. I believe that a child centred approach is paramount for the success of our pupils and their families in their educational, emotional and general wellbeing.
In my role I offer a non-judgemental, impartial support and advise and I feel I can bring all these values to the role a staff governor and ensure the voices of families and staff are represented at Governing body meetings.
